SLUDGE DEWATERING

SLUDGE DEWATERING –
SCREW PRESS SYSTEMS

Our sludge dewatering solutions are based on advanced screw press systems designed for efficient and energy‑saving operation. The process separates water from raw sludge and produces a dry, easy‑to‑handle sludge cake with minimal operator attention.

First, the liquid sludge is flocculated and then pumped into a screw cylinder. The cylinder consists of alternating fixed and moving rings with a central screw that slowly transports the sludge forward. As the sludge moves through the cylinder, water drains continuously through 0.5 mm gaps between the rings. Gradually, the sludge becomes drier until, in the final section, it is compressed into a cake and discharged automatically.

The slow‑moving screw press ensures low energy consumption and reliable, low‑maintenance operation. The screw press can be closely integrated with our flotation units, creating a compact, automated sludge handling line. Depending on solids content, typical capacities range from about 10 kg DS/h up to 300 kg DS/h.

Sludge dewatering units are installed in any industry creating sludge, which can be dewatered effectively before processing further.
